Description

The US Coast Guard intends to award a sole source contract to Mackay Communications Incorporated, Jacksonville Fl, to purchase underway Coast Guard Data Network Plus (CGDN+) and Internet connectivity to eight 225? WLBs via the Coast Guard?s capital cutter connectivity infrastructure. The Coast Guard plans to install eight CN-17 compliant Nera Saturn BM Class 2 Inmarsat-B systems & ancillary items onboard the 225? WLBs. Offerors who can furnish the same items listed above may submit, in writing, a proposal substantiated by technical data, brochures, pictures, etc., to include pricing data. Specifications relating to this procurement are not available and cannot be provided by the Government. All responses must be received within 8 calendar days (September 7, 2005, 12:00 Noon (EST.) addressed to Commandant (G-ACS-1A/CP) U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second Street, SW., Washington, DC 20593-0001, No telephone request will be accepted. There is no solicitation available. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. All responses submitting the required information will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed. An order for Commercial Items, in accordance with FAR Subpart 12, will be awarded on or about September 8, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation nor is it a request for competition.
