Description
The purpose of this amendment is to release contractors questions and answers. 1) Question: The ATS ??Are there 2 switches ? an ATS plus an additional Bypass isolation switch? or only one ? What is the size of the ATS ? and then in Part 3 they talk about the by pass switch ??is that mounted in a separate Nema 3R enclosure or the same enclosure? Answer: Paragraph 3.3A states: "Furnish bypass-isolation switch from the same manufacturer of the provided automatic transfer switch and bypass isolation switch shall be in the (same) enclosure as the automatic transfer switch." Dimensions will vary between manufactures, however a 400A enclosure with a bypass-isolation switch is approximately 3 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep, and 6 feet tall. 2) Question: Will rubber isoltaor be acceptable which meet seismic zone 4 ? vs rubber ? Answer: Paragragh 2.1E.2 specifies steel spring type vibration isolators, and that will remain the requirement, as specified. 3) Question: Our control panel has analog meters vs. digital is that acceptable? Answer: Paragraph 2.1G1.a, specifies instruments and controls to be microprocessor based and digital, and that will remain the requirement, as specified. 4) Question: Our de arrangement annunciator panel is a phenolic plastic plate vs. a brushed stainless steel is that acceptable? Answer: Phenolic plastic plate will be acceptable. 5) Question: Our circuit breaker is in a Nema 1 enclosure and inside the generator set enclosure but not a Nema 12? Answer: Paragragh 2.1H3.a, specifies a NEMA type 12 main circuit breaker enclosure, and that will remain the requirement, as specified. 6) Question: Over voltage / Under voltage alarms ? shutdowns ? are not required on a unit of this size ?..overkill and a waste of money? Answer: The specific design requirements for this project specify over/under voltage alarms and shutdown, and that will remain the requirement, as specified.
