- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for the purchase of commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Submit only written quotations for RFQ 8071-MI-CRO-ARRA. The associated NAICS code is 541710. Brooks City-Base, TX has a requirement for DNA Microarrays as outlined below. Prices should include delivery FOB Destination. Numbered note 22 applies. ********************************************************************************************************************* The Air Force is seeking the procurement of programmable microarray slides to support their efforts to develop and validate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology capable of rapid, genetic identification of multiple viruses and/or bacteria simultaneously that can cause upper respiratory and wound infections. Microarrays shall be in a 1?x 3? durable format that can be used with standard, commercially available labeling material and kits for a wide variety of genomic assays. Microarrays shall be able to support both fluorescence and electrochemical based methodologies. Microarray processing shall not require contractor specific support equipment, such as a hybridization oven or microarray reader for fluorescence detection. Rather, it shall be compatible with COTS available equipment used for industry standard microarray processing and analysis. The microarray must allow for fluorescent-based and microelectrochemical-based detection of viruses and bacteria. Microarray format shall be such that specific hybridization events can be detected using industry standard equipment that can be configured into a small, rugged footprint. To support development of microarray content for specific upper respiratory and wound infections, the microarray shall support the display of at least 12,000 different genetic sequences (probes) for agent identification. These probes shall be synthesized directly on the microarray and be totally customizable, i.e., probe sequence and length (up to 50 bases long) shall be user defined and capable of being modified rapidly. Costs for bioinformatics support, microarray imaging software, and microarray design shall be included in the cost of each microarray. There shall be no additional charges or fees for microarray set up or change. There shall be no minimum order for a particular microarray design, and a new design shall be available for shipment to the Air Force within 3 weeks following a request. ********************************************************************************************************************* The following FAR Provisions and Clauses are applicable to this procurement. FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items is hereby incorporated by reference. Solicitation provision at FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, is hereby incorporated by reference. The Government will award a Purchase Order resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror that is most advantageous to the government. The following factors will be evaluated: price and delivery schedule in compliance with the requirements of this solicitation with price being the most significant factor. The Provisions/Clauses can be obtained at http://farsite.hill.af.mil/vffara.htm.
