Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce On Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Description. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to modify contract N00178-01-C-3069 with the University of New Mexico (UNM), Albuquerque, NM 87131 on a sole source basis. No solicitation will be issued, all items are specified in this notice. UNM is currently providing services to develop rodent models for model characterization, variable standardization and decontamination control to determine pulmonary effects of pathogen/biothreat agents. NSWCDD has a requirement for continued rodent model efforts and advancement of the information derived to rabbit models for a more comprehensive model of the pulmonary effects of exposure to pathogen/ biothreat agents. UNMs existing rodent model protocols and research data are required to develop the GLP rabbit model protocols. Any other interested party must as a minimum: (1) have/have readily available access to UNMs existing protocols and research data for 100% compatibility in research data/p! rotocols/models/procedures/setup and (2) have immediate and documented capability and expertise to continue the existing research/model development and start the expanded rabbit model development, with documented expertise with existing UNM research data/ models/set up/protocols/procedures. The period of performance is 15 months from award. Interested firms must demonstrate in writing their capability to meet the above minimum requirements. Submit no more than 5 page proposals to NSWCDD, Bldg 183, Room 106, Code XDS13, 17320 Dahlgren Rd, Dahlgren, VA 224458 ? or- fax 540-653-6810, no later than 9 SEPT 2005, reference N00178-05-Q-3062. Include info that clearly addresses the minimum requirements, pricing, point of contact name with phone/fax number and email address. See Note 22.
