Description

It is the intent of the United States Coast Guard (USCG)to award, on a single-source basis pursuant to the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1)as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(ii)(2)entitled,Only One Responsible Source and no other Supply or Service will satisfy the Agency Requirements a fixed price contract to Mackay Communications, Jacksonville, FL 32211. The requirement is to provide nine 128Kbps Upgrade Kits to the US Coast Guard for use on their cutters. Description of product is: Nera Saturn Bm 128Kbps Upgrade kit which includes: Interface Connecter Unit (ICU) (1EA),COMTECH Satellite MODEM (1EA)Coax Cable BNC (2EA)Coax Cable TNC(1EA)Dual A/B Switch (1EA),6ft.RS-232,DB25 Male to DB25 Male(Straight through)(2EA)6 ft. RS-232, DB9 Male to DB25 Male (Special pinning)(1EA)6 ft. RS-232 DB9 Female to DB9 Male (Special pinning) (1EA). The Saturn BM Inmarsat systems are currently onboard USCG cutters for underway connectivity. The 128Kbps Upgrade Kits enhance the current Saturn BM Inmarsat systems on the cutters. Mackay Communications is the only know authorized reseller of this equipment. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE. The USCG will consider all affirmative responses received no later than 2:00 PM EDST, on September 19, 2005. Affirmative responses shall be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show your equipment is more advantageous to the Government. Requests for more information or a copy of the solicitation will not be considered affirmative responses. If no affirmative response is received that clearly demonstrates the ability to meet all requirements and that it is more advantageous to the Government,a sole-source award will be made to Mackay Communications.
