Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The government (Naval Air Systems Command Support Equipment Program Office PMA260) is seeking potential sources, industry comments, and product information pertaining to a stand alone De-Gas unit to de-gas Poly Alpha Olefin (PAO) (MIL-PRF-87252) to a dissolved gas content equal to or less than 1.4% total gas content as measured by a gas chromatograph. The unit must have the capabilities to leak check and condition PAO (de-gas/de-moist, filter), purge and fill all of the ALQ-99 transmitter bands: LBT, 1E, 2, 2/3, 4, 6, 7E, 8, 9/10, 9/9E/9ET that are in use in the United States Naval Supply Inventory. Additional capabilities required are as follows: (a) Reservoir: The size is not specified but the unit must have the capacity to service the 8-gallon ALQ 99 transmitter. Reservoir should protect conditioned PAO from the ambient environment dust and humidity etc. (b) Operational environment: Operated in a single wide Marine Corps mobile maintenance facility with a size of (8?Wx8?Hx20?L), on a US Aircraft Carrier avionics shop and laboratory environment and in temperatures from 40 degrees F to 100 degrees F. (c) Operating capabilities: Purge, de-gas and fill a single 8-gallon ALQ 99 transmitter with conditioned PAO in not more than 30 minutes, using the ?Wiggins Fittings? P/N 371655-1 (male) and P/N 371655-2 (female). Test the transmitter case for air leaks using the sight gauge fitting P/N 2F2-1453-4-T4, the de-air unit must have a female sight gauge fitting P/N 444956-1 or alternate P/N 441146. The de-air unit will notify the operator if a leak is detected. The de-air unit will be able to power the ALQ 99 with 208V 3 phase 400HZ 8amps transmitter using an electrical connection P/N 736500-1. (d) System must protect itself from PAO contamination and provide 5-micron filtration capability to PAO being transferred from the UUT. There will be a self-test before any de-gas procedure. Operator interaction should be minimal. (e) Provide continuous self-test that automatically detects critical failures and display to the operator the failed condition. Operator interaction should be minimal. (f) The unit shall have the capability to fill and drain itself from/into 1-gallon PAO containers. All return responses are welcome and may contain the following information: Size, type of operating power required, cost, weight, market sales, logistics support, failure data and availability. It is requested that information be submitted NO LATER THAN 26 September 2005 to Joanne Southworth, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 25222B562-3, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
