Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with IBM Corporation, 6710 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20817-1827 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), ?only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements? to purchase Intellectual Property Services Component (IPSC) licenses for Robust Risk Minimization Model (RRM) and Misspelled Vocabulary Correction (MVC). These products have the unique ability to operate on SSA?s mainframe computer and run under Java on IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) in both Sun Solaris and IBM zOS environments using a DB2 database. The products will perform free-format text and data mining functions in real-time. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact the POC identified above. Delivery is required within 30 days after award of purchase order.
