Description

The purpose of this amendment is to provide additional information for respondents. The date for submission of quotations is unchanged as a result of this amendment. Quotations must be provided by Sun Microsystems Authorized Government Systems Providers (GSPs) ONLY. A separate revised listing of these providers will be uploaded for reference. All respondents are required to supply their Sun Government Systems Provider (GSP) Authorized Reseller contract number (i.e., Sun GSP AR-xxxxx) as part of their quotation. The reasons for this requirement for Sun GSP authorized reseller contract numbers is as follows: (1) Only authorized resellers have a right to the Solaris operating system. Sun systems purchased from non-authorized resellers do not have a licensed operating system. Solaris will need to be purchased at an additional charge from Sun. Solaris is free with systems which are purchased direct from Sun or authorized resellers. (2) Sun does not honor the warranty on systems purchased from non-authorized resellers. In order to establish a Sun service contract on such systems, Sun requires a fee-based inspection of the equipment and proof of purchase of a Solaris license. Question: Do I interpret Item 0021 correctly by going ahead and quoting the combined discount for the three storage arrays listed on Item 0021 of this solicitation? Response: If you are going to offer a combined discount for the three storage arrays - you can address the discount as one combined number for all three storage arrays under Item 0021. However, if you are only going to offer a discount on one or two storage arrays then you should clearly indicate such on your quote under Item 0021. This requirement remains as a 100% set-aside for 8(a) small business concerns. Offerors are reminded that the date for submission of quotations is unchanged as a result of this amendment.
