Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC), Microbial Food Safety (MFS), intends to negotiate solely with Growth Curves USA, in Piscataway, NJ to purchase a Bioscreen C MBR, which includes software and warranty support. Bioscreen C MBR is a unique, high?capacity system for automation of microbiology designed to speed up microbiology work. It is a computer-controlled shaker/incubator/reader/analyzer equipped with 8 filters from 405 nm to 600 nm, including a wide-band filter. The length of test performed can be set from a single measurement to one year. The incubator system has a working range from 1 to 60 degrees C. in steps of 0.1 degree, which maintains accuracy within 0.1 degree of set temperature for a month or more. EZExperiment software (provided with the system) presents OD values in matrix form, which can be easily used to draw growth curves using Microsoft Excel. These experiments involve measuring the multiple effects of physical and environmental conditions on the bacterial behavior. Specifically, we will measure the growth promoting/inhibiting effects of NaC1, pH and spoilage flora. In order to accomplish these tasks, we require an instrument that will permit multi-well analyses. Companies with the demonstrated capabilities of providing this instrument must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address within 10 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
