Description

The U.S. Department of State intends to issue a sole-source procurement action with MITEQ INC for the purchase of (90) Optical Transmitters model number 159287 and (1) 12-Channel Optical Receiver model number 159324 to be delivered within 3 months from award. This procurement is a follow-on award to SAQMPD05M1754 and needed to complete an upgrade to the current existing system. Conducted under FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Requirement. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firm's ability to provide an equivalent product as described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond to this notice by 9 September 2005, 13:00 EST to Vincent J. Sanchez, Contract Specialist, Department of State, Office of Logistics Management, Acquisition Management, P.O.Box 9115 Rosslyn Station, Arlington, VA, 22219. Fax 703-875-6006. Responses received will be evaluated;however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion for the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The U.S. Department of State will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
