Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Inland Detroit Diesel Allison, of Carol Stream, Illinois, for the maintenance of Electro-Motive Division Turbocharged 16 cylinder diesel engines located at the Hines VA Medical Center, Hines IL., for the period 10/1/05 through 9/30/06 with four (4) one year. This equipment is located at the Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 811219. To the best of our knowledge, Inland Detroit Diesel Allison, of Carol Stream, Illinois is the only source who employs personnel that are factory trained on this specific equipment, that are an Authorized Service Company of the manufacture, who are an authorized supplier of the required parts, with Certifications on the specified equipment, training and with experience in maintaining and overhauling the specified equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fourteen (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Inland Detroit Diesel Allison, of Carol Stream, Illinois.
