Item description and quantity clin0001: Scope of Work: is described in BLDG 720 at Southern California Logistics Airport for LAN NETWORK PN:03248-01R1. It includes supplies such as pathways wiremold 2300 and cabling for network connectivity to each workstation and services to include installation and numerous core drills throughout the building. Requested Period of Performance: 26 SEP 2005 TO 31 MAR 2006. Delivery and acceptance point is: Fort Irwin, CA. 92310.The following Statement of Work is provided: bldg. 720 southern california logistics airport communications renovation for lan network 1.0 purpose. The purpose of this effort is to augment current communications in the bui lding and provide data network communications by connecting and configuring to the Ft. Irwin data network via T-1 connection. 2.0 justification The network users in this Bldg. Use the Terminal Server Access Controller System TSACS dial-up modem for networ k access. This system is inadequate for the facilities communications responses. This facility needs to be renovated to include an up to date network Local Area Network LAN and access to the Ft. Irwin Data network. 3.0 Scope The Primary inside the buildi ng 5 ft. Line Facilities provisions will be divided into three areas: 1 Pathways; 2 Cabling; 3 Networking. The scope will include the provision of equipment and installation equipment. The scope will provide network connectivity and operation to the user designated work stations. 3.1 Pathways Scope 3.1.1 Primary Pathways The scope of this project is to provide adequate pathways to support the necessary facility cabling throughout the facility. The pathways must be capable of being utilized for future mov es, adds, and changes as cabling requirements change. The area for pathway installation were largely determined on a site survey taken on Sept. 15, 2003. 3.2 Cabling Scope 3.2.1 Primary Cabling The cabling requirements will be to provide dual station out lets utilizing CAT-6 cabling to all of the designated outlet locations detailed in the accompanying drawing 9.1. There will be 19 dual data outlets. The cable will be installed and terminated. 4.0 Primary Facilities Description Section 4.XX will detail t he primary facilities. None of the rooms are numbered. The room numbers on the accompanying drawing call Donna Proctor for a copy of the drawing @ 760-380-3843 are for communications labeling purposes only. When the cables are installed to there designa ted outlets the room number scheme indicated on the accompanying drawing will be implemented. 4.1 Communications Room & Cabinet The current Communications room is in behind the Media Briefing room. This room is acceptable for the environmental requirement s the networking equipment will need to stay operational. Floor space is at a premium. There will be a 5 ft. Communications cabinet installed that will house the networking equipment and cabling terminations and distribution. The cabinet will have a Plexi glas front door and rear door for access. Both front and rear door will be required to have locks for equipment security. The side panels will be required to be removable. The cabinet will be equipped with a fan assembly for air circulation. The fan asse mbly will consist of 3 fans with a 75 cfm rating per fan. Because of space restrictions the cabinet can be no deeper than 30. As there is to be network connect ivity on the first and second floor the location of the cabinet 's location was chosen for the following functional reasons: 1 this communications room is air conditioned to keep networking equipment cool and is relatively dust free; 2 This location is the ideal spot to take advantage of the communications pathways. The data cabling distribution will be housed inside the cabinet. 4.2 Grounding The communications cabinet will be properly grounded. All grounding will be done in accordance with Ansi Tia Eia 6 07. 4.3 Power Requirement At the proposed location there is an existing duplex 120 volt outlet. The networking requirements call for a 1,400 VA 950 Watt capacity. A Uninterrupted Power Supply UPS is required for this project. There must be on the ups at least 6 120 Volt outputs. The Rack Mount UPS Made By APC SU1400 RM-2U Will Meet the power requirements for this project. 4.4 Pathways 4.4.1 Current Configuration The original construction of this building provided electrical metallic tubing emt to seve ral building locations for telephone cabling. The building was constructed mostly of cinder block and communications conduits that are undersized for today's cabling requirements. The pathway sizes for Raceway is no larger than 1.25 at the most from the T elephone Terminal Board TTB to locations. This EMT installation is not only undersized but also there are not enough of them. The room heights are around 8-10 high and are open spaced. The hallways are also 8-10 high and have an existing false ceiling th at is 5-0 high from the structural roof throughout this facility. Within this 3 ft. Space EMT for telephone and electric, Air conditioning ducts are run to service the rooms. All of the interior walls are drywall with a wood textured paneling. 4.4.2 Primary Facility Pathway Description 4.4.2.1 Pathway The proposed cabinet location was chosen because it sits directly in the middle. To distribute the cable throughout the building cable J-Hooks will be installed throughout the hallways inside of the fal se ceiling. The pathway for the rooms will be surface mounted raceway. At no time will the cable in the raceway exceed 40% fill. When installing the raceway from above the false ceiling line to the outlet height the raceway will not come down in the mi ddle of any wall, the corners will be utilized. 4.5 Cabling The type of cabling throughout the building will be 4 pair Category 6 plenum rated cabling. There will be 20 outlets throughout the facility. Each outlet will be a dual data outlet with 2 cables terminated 568A cabling scheme 182 cable runs total. There will be a dual blank on the faceplate for future expansion. All cables will be a continuous Homerun back to the communications cabinet. At the cabinet there will be sufficient patch panels CAT-6 , 22 AWG Type to terminate the 38 cables. All cabling will be labeled according to the labeling scheme indicated on the accompanying drawing. The outlet boxes will be double gang 4-11 16 X 4-11 16 with double-gang faceplates. The jacks will be dual 8-pi n 568A type. The jacks will be in conformity with CAT-6 terminations 22 AWG 210 type connectors on the back. The placement of the outlets will be in accordance with accompanying drawing 7.1. 4.6 TESTING All cables shall be tested to ANSI TIA EIA 526 Sta ndard Testing Procedures and 568-A Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standards.
