Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Codonics, Inc. of Cleveland OH to furnish and install a Horizon Ci Large Format Dry Imager and associated postscript media starter kit for the VAMC, Iron Mt. MI. To the best of our knowledge the Horizon Ci Imager is the only equipment, which has the following capabilities: a dynamic media transport system (DMTS), which advances film continuously across the print head; a U-shaped thermal print head, FDA approved paper (DirectVista) and can provide color paper for medical printers. Equipment required must include a smart card with all the connectivity/printer parameters. Card must be able to be plugged into a replacement printer with no new programming requirements. The procurement is being issued in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 334119. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within (ten) 10 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Codonics Inc.
