Army and the Corps of Engineers will host an Industry Exchange Forum on 4 October 2005 in Omaha, Nebraska at the following location: Peter Kiewit Conference Center, Room 102, 1313 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68102 The Forums will start promptly at 9:00 AM and end at approximately 3:00 PM local time. Assembly will take place starting at 8:00 AM. You are highly recommended to register yourself and any other participants from your firm (There is no Fee). To register for the Industry Exchange, please e-mail Mr. Alvin Butler at alvin.butler@usace.army.mil. The email, as a minimum, must contain the following information: 1. Firm Name 2. POC information 3. Are you a Joint Venture? 4. Will your firm be attending the Industry Forum? 5. Number of attendees 6. Names of those individuals attending, email address, and phone numbers Topics for discussions will include but are not limited to: Environmental Cleanup Multiple Award Schedule Initiatives Industry available expertise and capability to facilitate multiple schedules of pre-qualified Small and Other Than Small firms to execute a full range of environmental cleanup activities. Approaches, methodology and business processes that will minimize cost, radically reduce total project lead-time; radically reduce risk and liabilities. Input and feedback is desired from all interested parties to include but not limited to: Small Business Community members (Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Women-Owned Small Business, HubZones, Service-Disable Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business and Historical Black Colleges and Minority Institutions. Other Than Small Business (Large Business, state and local government; non-profit organizations; public utilities, educational institutions, etc). Partnering Agencies, Center, Associations and Societies (Small Business Administration, Offices of Business and Economic Development, The Veteran Corporation, Small Business Development Centers, Chambers of Commerce, Society of American Military Engineers, etc) The results of the industry forums will satisfy Parts 5, 10 and 19 (associated supplements, directives and guidance). Specifically, the results of the activities will be used to: Analyze, evaluate, determine and document industry practices and trends related to environmental remediation, acquisition methods and approaches. Analyze, evaluate, determine and document the capabilities of Industry (particularly members of the Small Business Community) to compete, support and satisfy requirements regarding Environmental Remediation Services. Document formal acquisition plans, benefit and cost-type analysis and avoidance of unnecessary and unjustified bundling that precludes small business community members as prime and subcontractors. Structure contract requirements to facilitate competition by and among Small Business Community members. Notification to any affected incumbent Small Business Community members of Armys intention to consolidate requirements regarding Environmental Remediation Services. Notification to affected incumbent small concerns how to contact the Small Business Administration. Facilitating Small Business Administration Offices U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Government Contracting, Omaha 11145 Mill Valley Road Omaha, Nebraska 68154-3949 The Army maintains a worldwide environmental cleanup mission. The resultant suites of contracts will be available to U.S. Army and DoD Major Commands and Components, at an anticipated value of approximately $2 Billion. The contracts will be classified und er North American Code System (NAICS) code 562910 (small business size standard of less than 500 employees). The potential scope of services may include but will not be limited to: environmental service s consisting of remedial investigations, remedial design, long-term maintenance/operations, long-term monitoring, remedial/response actions (for both environmental and MMRP sites), environmental conservation and planning support (including natural and cult ural resource programs), compliance and pollution-prevention program support, environmental management systems support, Environmental Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ECAMP) support, and operation, monitoring, evaluation, and optimization of e nvironmental treatment or control systems and associated processes. The perspective contractors responding to any unrestrictive, full and open solicitation must demonstrate capability and expertise to execute statement of work successfully nationally and internationally. The information gathered from this Forum will assist the Product Delivery Team to determine the Small Business Community interest and provide suggestions for potential strategies that will maximum their participation as prime contractors and subcontractors . One approach for restrictive, small business set-asides, is to divide the Nation into five regions, all states within the continental east U.S., west continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, and all military installations outside the U.S. The point of contact for interested parties is Mr. Alvin Butler at alvin.butler@usace.army.mil, or Christopher D.
