Description
Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement to the San Francisco Estuary Institute, for the Corps of Engineers continued project to determine the processes of mercury transport, magnitude of concentrations, and loads of dissolved and particu late mercury and methyl-mercury in a water column in the Guadalupe River, Santa Clara County, CA.This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. No plans or Specs will be issued. Notice of Intent to award a sole source purchase order to the San Francisco Estuary Institute for services to support the Corps of Engineers continued analysis of mercury and methyl-mercury in a column of the Guadalupe River, CA. Key components of this work include continued sampling, managing contracted tasks, exe cuting a quality control plan, revising and utilizing in-process data acquired during the past three years, conducting real-time 15 minute turbidity measurements, collecting water samples for suspended sediment concentration and grain size analysis for aut omated turbidity measurement, conducting sampling with trace metal clean protocols, total mercury, dissolved mercury, total methyl-mercury, and dissolved methyl-mercury; producing progress and summary reports; coordinating with the Corps, the Santa Clara V alley Water District, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board; and participating in meetings, and taking minutes. All interested parties may provide a statement of their qualifications and any related work experience, no more than 2 pages in length. T he period of performance for this Contract will have a contract completion date of 31 October 2006. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is within the discretion of the Government. All responses are due to US Army Engin eering District, Sacramento Office, Attention: Niki. Haas, CESPK-CT-B/Haas, 1325 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, not later than 17 September 2005. This action will be conducted under FSC Code F999, SIC Code 8999, NAICS Code 541690. The size standard is $6,000,000.00.
