- The following is in addition to what was previously submitted. If the contractor uses messenger service to pickup all VAMC staff gathered samples, the contractor will call at least 48 hours in advance of pick up. The testing lab must be either Virginia or Maryland State certified. The contractor will conduct the following test on a monthly basis for 12 months: The cooling towers and chilled water system will be tested for: a. Molybdenum, method SM3113B(atomic absorption graphite furnace) b. Calcium, method SM3111B (atomic absorption graphite furnace) c. Conductivity, method SM2510B(Meter) d. Total Plate Count, method Orion Diagnostic (incubated at 35 degrees Celsius for 48 hours) e. Yeast, method Orion Diagnostic (incubated at 35 degrees Celsius for 48 hours)The steam condensate is tested for: a. Ph, METHOD EPA 150.1(meter) b. Hardness, method SM2340C(titration).
