Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR HORIZONTAL VIBRATION SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to: Answer questions submitted by potential offerors and extend the due date for responses. The following question was submitted: 1. The selection as to the best type of bearing to employ is based on your test, to make this determination we need the following information Heaviest Payload Height of the Cg (center of gravity) Location of the cg Type of Test to be performed (Sine, Random etc)- Max Acceleration Level ANSWER: This slip table is a standard daily test bed. The test articles are various sizes and weights so that the center of gravity (c.g.) locations are varying as well. In our practice, we try to line up the c.g. line as close as to the center line of the slip table which also is the center line of the armature. Heaviest Payload: Range from less than one pound to 1000 lbs includes fixture, excludes slip table, adapter plate and armature. Height of the Cg (center of gravity): Range from couple inches to 30 inches from the surface of the slip plate. Location of the cg: The location of the c.g. can be off-set +/- 20 inches from the center line of the slip table. Type of Test to be performed (Sine, Random etc) Max Acceleration Level: 0.25 to 10 g's on Sine Sweep from 3 Hz to 3000 Hz; 70 g's max on random from 10 Hz to 3 KHz; 20gg's on Shock; and 15 g's on Sine Burst. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to 9/16/2005. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 8/22/2005.
