Description
THIS IS A COMMERCIAL ITEM. The agency intends to purchase (5)CLASS 280 AND (7)CLASS 291 Fire Prevention Vehicles. See specifications below. Tanker bodies are to be mounted on Government furnished vehicles. Quotes should contain base price, cost of each striping, fabrication of lightbar mount, installation of Government furnished components, installation of Government furnished slip-on pumper unit (50 gal. or 100 gal.), and installation of Government furnished radios. Specifications: CLASS 280 USFS REGION 5 FIRE PREVENTION TANKER BODY, CLASS 280 CONSTRUCTION Substructure shall consist of a one-piece continuous torsion-box frame ? no exceptions The body shall be fabricated from a minimum A-40 galvaneal steel. The compartments shall have an integral full compartment length drip rail. The compartment fronts shall be formed so as to have a frame and channel around the perimeter of the opening. The channel shall be continuous and be seal welded at each corner to make a weather tight door seal channel. The end panels shall form the outside front of the compartment frame. The panel shall have ?? outer fold designed to overlap the back & bottom panels of the upper compartments. On the interior of each compartment sidewall will be two adjustable divider tracks extending the full height. They shall be 14 gauge steel channels approximately 1 ?? wide by 1? deep. The tracks shall allow for placement of shelving and accessories at any point in the track. Shelving packages shall have spring-loaded nuts in order to bolt accessories along the track. A continuous black closed cell neoprene, D-shaped open center door gasket with adhesive back shall be installed in the compartment door channel. A sectional door gasket, foam, or closed center door gasket is not acceptable. DIAMOND PLATE BED FLOOR Deck is to be 1/8? diamond plate steel. The deck will have a 2? bend along both inner sidewalls. There will be no wheel riser boxes in deck area ? FLOOR MUST BE COMPLETELY FLAT ? NO EXCEPTIONS. COMPARTMENT DOORS The doors shall be double panel lap type. The outer panel shall be 14 gauge. The inner panel shall be 18 gauge A-40 galvaneal steel. The inner panel shall be welded to the outer panel and a full width reinforcement channel shall be attached to both the inner and outer panels. The inner panel will be precisely sized so as to make contact with the upper compartment perimeter door seal gasket. The inner panel shall make contact with the door seal continuously around the entire perimeter of the compartment when the door is closed. The door shall be equipped with a full-length stainless steel continuous piano hinge with a 3/16? stainless steel pin with 5/8 knuckle. The hinge shall be welded to the door between the inner & outer panels. The hinge will be bolted to the compartment inner frame so that there are no fasteners visible on the door or the compartment when the door is closed. Each vertically hinged door will have an over-center spring door check to maintain the door at a 90? angle to the body when open. Each door shall have a locking polished stainless steel rotary latch paddle handles. Each horizontally hinged door will have a heavy-duty chain encased in an anti-rattle sheath. The chain will be welded to a compartment frame reinforcement bracket and have a detachable ?S? hook on the door end that will hold the door open at 90? to the body, or allow the door to swing down 180?. COMPARTMENT INTERIORS The body shall have the following shelving: -Two (2) adjustable shelves in each vertical compartment -One (1) bolt-in divider shelf in the curbside horizontal compartment -No shelving in either rear vertical compartments TAILGATE & BUMPER There shall be a 12?H fold down rear tailgate sized to the full width of the bed opening. No advertising shall be permitted. There shall be a diamond plate rear bumper the width of the body, with no recess for hitch. The bumper shall not be attached to the rear of the body. LIGHTING There shall be recessed halogen running lights located in the rear of the curbside and streetside compartments. FINISH There shall be full undercoating and prime paint on all exterior and compartment interior surfaces. Diamond plate rock guards shall be installed at the front compartments BODY DIMENSIONS Body Height - 34 OAL - 108? plus bumper OAW - 78? Compartment Depth - 13? Curbside Compartment Configuration: -(2) Two Horizontal Upper Compartments ? 52?W x 16?H -(1) One Forward Lower Compartment ? 35?W x 16?H -(1) One Rear Lower Compartment ? 27?W x 16?H Streetside Compartment Configuration: -(1) One Vertical Compartment ? 35?W x Body Height -(1) One Horizontal Compartment ? 71?W x 16?H -(1) One Lower Rear Vertical Compartment ? 27?W x 16?H VEHICLE STRIPING The vehicle shall be striped per USFS guidelines. The vendor shall be responsible for providing the approved striping materials, the USFS will supply the door decals and numbers. LIGHTBAR BRACKET The vendor shall fabricate and install a bulkhead mounted lightbar bracket. INSTALLATION OF GOVERNMENT SUPPLIED LIGHTING The vendor shall install government supplied warning lights, controllers and a cab mounted console. INSTALLATION OF GOVERNMENT SUPPLIED SLIP-ON The vendor shall install a government supplied slip-on unit. Unit shall be installed per the manufacturer guidelines.
