Description
The US Army at Picatinny Arsenal is seeking to purchase a hot isostatic press (HIP) with the following general features: prestressed wirewound threadless pressure vessel and frame with threadless end closures; 30,000 psi maximum operating pressure for argon or nitrogen pressurizing medium utilizing an electro-hydraulic compressor; a graphite 2-zone furnace with a 5.5" ID x 11" L minimum work zone rated for operation up to 2000 degrees C; a molybdenum 2-zone furnace with a 5.5" ID x 9" L minimum work zone rated for operation up to 1200 degrees C; automated computer control system; gas supply system; power system; and spare parts kit. Special features of the HIP are to include: uniform rapid cool capability for both furnaces with +/- 10 degree C temperature uniformity from setpoint above 900 degree C and >1,000 psi; minimum cooling rate of 100 degree C per minute between 1200 and 600 degrees C; control system to include dual computing architecture; Allen Bradley SLC 500 programmable logic controller; Human Machine Interface (HMI) with P & I diagram screen displays for the cooling system, gas system, and trend screen; PID Control, and Auto/Manual control; touch screen operator interface terminal (OIT); fully configured computer workstation running "RSVIEW", "RSLOGIX", "RSLINX", and Custom VISUAL BASIC applications on the same platform; data acquisition and storage for historical data logging; automatic cycle recipes and alarm summaries; LCD color screen and printer. An eddy current sensor for operation up to 1200 degrees C in the molybdenum uniform rapid cool furnace with a frequency range up to 1000 KHz, a measuring range of .025 mm - 63.5 mm; and a penetration depth of up to 25 mm. A dilatometer for operation up to 2000 C in the graphite uniform rapid cool furnace with sample diameter range of 5-25 mm and 1-50 mm length; one complete graphite sample holder with a high resolution position transducer and adjusting screws for various sample lengths; and one high precision measuring amplifier with power supply. The complete package must include freight, insurance, installation & start-up and on-site training. Follow up application training must also be available.
