- Description
- Specifications for a 3-Dimensional Laser Scanning System This system should be complete with an articulating portable arm coordinate measuring machine; mountable laser scanning probe; point cloud inspection, visualization, and data analysis software; and training. Delivery must be made no later than September 30, 2005. Specifications for the 4 main components of this system package shall be: 1. Articulating portable arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM): The CMM shall: Have 7-axis Cover a 10 foot diameter sphere or 10 foot measuring envelope Be easily transportable and lightweight Have infinite rotation on all axis Include 3 hard probes one of which shall be a point probe Include certification equipment Be constructed of carbon graphite tubes to resist temperature fluctuations Include travel case Contain internal components & cables for connections to laser scanners Include magnetic base mounting hardware Have an adjustable counterbalance Have volumetric length accuracy of at least 0.003 inches. Have wireless capability for hard probing Have ability to change to different hard probes without recalibration 2. Laser Scanning Probe that Mounts Directly to the CMM: The laser scanner shall be capable of utilizing the internal components and cables within the CMM so nothing external to the CMM is required. Includes: Power supply Carrying case Calibration or qualification equipment Specifications: Speed at least 23,000 points per second Accuracy at least 35 micron Resolution at least 0.42mm minimum point-to-point Repeatability at least 20 micron 3. Software Software shall be capable of: Point cloud inspection, 3D data visualization, data analysis, and real time integration with the CMM and the laser scanner software. Meshing up to 100 million points and have a noise reduction filter capable of increasing the accuracy of the 3D digitizer by a factor between 3 and 5. Allowing the user to use the hard probe to tie the software to a grid system for geo-referencing model with prototype. It must be able to scale scan data to prototype dimensions. Importing bathymetric ACSII survey data or LIDAR data and performing direct comparisons between this data and data collected from the CMM laser scanner. Being used to obtain lengths, heights, angles, radii, and volumes directly on point clouds. It must have automated tools to extract key features such as cross-sections, sharp edges, and other features directly on point clouds. These extracted elements sh ould be able to be directly exported to DXF and IGES and/or imported into MicroStation V7 and V8. The extracted measurements should be able to be reported into tabular reports which are exportable in Word, Excel, and HTML formats. Creating 3D animated videos (in AVI format) to visualize the laser scan data or imported survey data. Having a free viewer available for distribution to clients who wish to view the data and the analysis. 4. Training Two days off site training at sellers facility and 2 days on site training at customer facility (customer to pay travel).
