Description

The Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.501)a)(1) to HP Federal Sales, 6406 Ivy Lane, Greenbelt, Maryland 20770. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acqui sition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Vicksburg District (MVK) require this blade server configuration and chassis to be used for new software that is being implemented. The servers will be using with Retnia Software to scan the network for vulnerabilities. It will also be used with the new CA Asset Intelligence software that will enable better utilization reporting on the assets connected to the network. Delivery is not later than 26 September 2005. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualif ications to provide this supply or service in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 1600 hrs CST on 15 September 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct t his procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
