Description
This is an unrestricted acquisition for the procurement of Specialized Shipping/Storage Containers, Shelters, Accessories and Related Items. The intent of the solicitation is to request prices for Original Equipment Manufacturer?s (OEM?s) commercial catalogs/product lines or partial product lines of the above items. The items are brand name specific which are identified by the manufacturer?s part number and item description. The containers shall be within 84 to 1,280 cubic feet and derived from steel, aluminum, or composites. The shelters must be within 600 to 3,330 cubic feet and derived from steel, aluminum, composite and/or canvas. The government intends to award multiple - Requirements Type - Customer Value Contracts (CVCs) - involving comparable commercial items/product lines. The multiple awards will allow DSCP?s customers to do comparison shopping for their requirements, determine what is available from multiple sources (price, delivery and technical characteristics) and make a competitive best value decision as to which product(s) would best meet their needs. DSCP?s requiring activities (customers) will be made aware of all available CVC contracts and individual orders will be placed based on the their determination as to the competitive best value/lowest overall cost alternative. The resulting contracts will have a base ordering period of two (2) years with an option to extend the contract term in four (4) two (2) year increments for a maximum ten (10) year contract period. In order to be considered for award contractors must have a published priced catalog. Delivery will be to any destination in the Continental U.S. (CONUS), excluding Alaska. Delivery time frames are left to the discretion of the offerors. Drawings are not required. Numbered Note 12 applies. The North American Industrial Classification (NAIC) Code for Shipping/Storage Containers is 332439 and for Shelters is 332311 and 332999. All responsible sources may submit proposals which shall be considered by this agency. To obtain a copy of the solicitation from the DlA Procurement Gateway, use Internet site http://progate.daps.dla.mil/home. This solicitation will be posted on the referenced website no sooner than September 19, 2005 and will remain open for thirty days.
