Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation, Notice of Intent. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with EMC Corporation for upgrade of critical data storage, software, and tape backup, in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Submit offers on NOI-RML #5029. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05B dated 8/26/05. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334112 and the small business size is 1000. SCHEDULE: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), has a need to update it?s EMC equipment and software for network storage and backup. The upgrade shall include the following: 1) Network server power edition for Linus; 2) Networker management console with access control; 3) Networker administration connection; 4) Networker ClientPak for Unix; 5) Networker ClientPak for Windows; 6) Networker ClientPak for Linux; 7) Networker Client connections, package of 25(twenty-five); 8) Networker SNMP module for Win and Unix; 9) Networker Power Edition storage node for Windows; 10) Networker module for Microsoft SQL, Tier 4(four); 11) Networker module for Microsoft Exchange, Tier 4(four); 12) Networker Autochangerer software module 1-128 slots; 13) Networker Dynamic drive sharing option; 14) Upgrade Networker autochanger, 1-400 slots; 15) Networker Dynamic drive sharing option; 16) Networker ClientPak for Mac OS X; 17) Networker power edition storage node for Unix; 18) Networker Power Edition storage node for Linux; 19) Networker Open File Manager; 20) Professional services; 21) Onsite Training; 22) Premier 24x7 Technical Add On Support. FOB Point shall be Destination, Hamilton, MT. Delivery location is Rocky Mountain Laboratories, 903 S. 4th Street, Hamilton, MT. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: (B)(1) By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee shall be registered in the CCR database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract, basic agreement, basic ordering agreement, or blanket purchasing agreement resulting from this solicitation; 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial; FAR52.212-2 Evaluation Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items; FAR 52-212.5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial Items. FAR52.246-2 Inspection of Supplies-Fixed Price. By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee shall have posted their FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certifications Commercial Items at website http://orca.bpn.gov. Award will be based on the capability of the item offered to meet the above stated salient characteristics, delivery, price, and past performance. Offers may be mailed or faxed to the POC indicated above (Fax - 406-363-9288). Offers must be submitted not later than 4:30 PM (MDST), 9/22/05.
