- Description
- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Boston Scientific Corp., One SCIMED Place, Maple Grove, MN 55311 for a Galaxy 2 Instrument System consisting of one Galaxy 2 IVUS Imaging System with monitor, one motor drive, one super VHS tape, one CD disk, one catheter simulator, and one instruction manual. The VAPHS will open three new state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratories in Sept. 2005 and will start performing carotid stenting and peripheral vascular intervention. The Galaxy is the only ultrasound system which provides trans-longitudinal and cross-sectional viewing with auto vessel measurements for a quicker and more accurate diagnosis for patient care and safety. The Galaxy ultrasound system will allow VA Cardiologists to visualize the internal vessel anatomy to determine the stenotic density and size of the vessels to assure the appropriate type, diameter and length of stent to use. If your firm has equipment which can meet the above-described requirements, please submit descriptive literature and supporting information to Linda Glancy@med.va.gov or by fax to Linda Glancy at (412) 365-5471 NLT 9/19/05 C.O.B. Whether or not to issue a competitive solicitation is solely at the discretion of the VAPHS Contracting Officer. Technical questions can be directed to Al Durica at (412) 688-6176.
