Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Animal Disease Research Unit, in Pullman, WA, requires a universal gel, blot, microplate, and microarray laser imager that offers 3 methods of detection: storage phosphor, fluorescence, and chemiluminescence. The laser imaging system shall digitally measure fluorescence or radioisotopes in gels, blots or microplates or microarrays. Also, the laser imager shall detect 4 different fluorescent molecules within a gel, blot, microplate or microarray. The imager shall have the capability to scan microarray fluorescent data at 10 micrometers size resolution, consistent with previously published microarray methods. Also, the imaging station shall allow phosphor quantitation of 3-H, 14-C, 125-I, 32-P, 33-P, and 35-S. The imaging system shall have user-friendly quantitation software with Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP compatibility.
