NAICS CODE: 339111. NO SOURCES ARE SOUGHT BY THIS NOTICE. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT ONLY ONE SOURCE. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Beltsville, MD 20705, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to CEPHEID. This sole source contract is for Smartcycler Systems, the government knows of no other manufacturer for this item. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements.
