Description

Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (02 August 2005) Amendment 3. The purpose of this amendment is to answer Questions and Answers asked by contractor(s). 1. I VIEWED THE AMENDMENT TO THE RFQ REFERENCED ABOVE. JUST A COUPLE COMMENTS......SIDE TRACKS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!! THE SHADES DO NOT STAY IN THE TRACKS. IT WILL BE A MAINTENANCE NIGHTMARE TO DO ANY TYPE OF REPAIR ON THESE SHADES LET ALONE GETTING SHADES BACK INTO THE TRACKS EVERY TIME THEY COME OUT. THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY FOR THE FUNCTION OF THE SHADE. Answer: Given the size of the shades we choose to require tracks and believe that the tracks will assist in keeping the shades in better shape over the years. Our specifications remain unchanged. 2. YOU ARE ASKING FOR 2 WALL MOUNTED SWITCHES BUT IN YOUR DESCRIPTION YOU ASK FOR A SWITCH TO CONTROL THE UPPER MOTORS AS ONE AND THE LOWER MOTORS AS ONE AND THEN INDIVIDUALLY CONTROL EACH MOTOR ON THE UPPER LEVEL (WHICH WOULD REQUIRE 5 ADDITIONAL SWITCHES) AND INDIVIDUALLY CONTROL EACH MOTOR ON THE LOWER LEVEL (WHICH WOULD REQUIRE 5 MORE SWITCHES) FOR A TOTAL OF 12 SWITCHES. Answer: The following clarification is provided; we need two (2) wall mounted ?gang boxes?, each with six (6) button stations. The six (6) buttons would serve to control the upper shades collectively (one button) and the other five (5) buttons to control the shades individually. The same set up would apply to the bottom shades. Submission date and time of quotations remains unchanged.
