Description
This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5) for the Secured Destruction / Recycling of Mixed Paper and the Recycling Only of Cardboard, Newspaper, Aluminum Cans, Plastic and Glass Bottles. Annually, Social Security Administration HQ in Baltimore, MD produces approximately 1.5M pounds of recyclable paper. It is our policy to recycle as much of this material as practicable. Some of this material contains sensitive Privacy Act type information and must be protected from unauthorized disclosure. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking to identify sources and is requesting information regarding the most economical way of achieving secure destruction / recycling of the estimated yearly quantity of 1.5 million pounds of mixed paper and the recycling only of its estimated yearly quantity of 228,000 pounds of cardboard and newspaper; 9,700 pounds of aluminum cans; 8,700 pounds of plastic bottles and 220 pounds of glass bottles The SSA is currently conducting market research only. No award is intended as a result of this synopsis nor does the Government intend to pay for information received. SSA is interested in receiving information with regard to the secured destruction / recycling capabilities of area small businesses. The NAICS Code for this procurement will be 562111 with its associated small business size standard of $10.5 million. The SSA has approximately 15 buildings within the Baltimore City/Baltimore County area that need the secure destruction / recycling service with the majority of the quantities of paper being at three locations / buildings. Responses should describe the contractor?s capabilities and approaches in achieving secured destruction / recycling of SSA?s mixed paper and the recycling only of the other recyclable materials listed above. Offerors should submit statements or other descriptive data that describes their abilities to assist us in our secured destruction / recycling efforts.
