- The VA Medical Center, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428 intends to procure sole source with Alcon Labs, 6201 South Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas, 76134-2099 for an Infiniti Vision System, Video Overlay and Aqualase handpieces included and an Infiniti Neosonix Handpiece to perform cataract extractions. This software is required to upgrade the current system. NAICS code 423460 applies to this procurement with a business size standard of 500 employees. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can satisfy this requirement must supply information about their capabilities, or submit quotations to the Contracting Officer no later than 3:30 PM E.S.T. September 20, 2005. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government and can be sent via fax or e-mail. The fax number is 937-262-5974. This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
