Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with US Protect, Suite 1000, 801 Roeder Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910 for the requirement specified herein under the authority provided in Federal Acquisition 6.302-2, as the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem it an unusual and compelling urgency. SSA has a requirement to purchase additional armed guard services and an additional mobile patrol vehicle. The services will increase the scope of the present contract by 5,136 hours and an additional mobile patrol vehicle. US Protect is the current contractor for SSA?s Wilkes-Barre Data Operations Center located at 1150 E. Mountain Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702-7997 where the services are required. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed priced modification to the current contract. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
