Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for a high-speed linescan x-ray system for inspecting and monitoring fruit and vegetables. This state-of-the-art digital x-ray imager must produce and analyze a detailed image of each item as well as make multiple, intelligent decisions on whether to accept or reject the item in real-time. This system must perform multiple high-resolution inspections on items while detecting a wide range of contaminants, foreign objects and voids at conveyor speeds up to 700fpm. Unit mounts over existing conveyors yet allows installation in confined spaces. System includes adjustable x-ray levels and expandable digital arrays. The Government intends to negotiate with the only known responsible source, INSPEX, because of proprietary algorithms developed over prior years and currently utilized in on-going research/data.
