Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information contained in this notice. The procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the formal Request for Quotation (RFQ) and a written solicitation WILL NOT be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through July 2005 Federal Acquisition Regulation revision, which includes the consolidation of all Federal Acquisition Circulars 2005-04. This acquisition is 100% small business set aside and the NAICS code is 334111 with a small business size standard of 1000 employee. It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure five (5) 64-bit, 1U Linux servers and as stated below. Each server shall include the parts (specifications) to match the quantity shown on left column. For example, as the servers are dual processors, 10 processing chips (either Intel Xeon or AMD64) are required (5 x 2), and 20 SDRAM memory cards (4 for each machine): Quantity Specifications 5 Dual Intel Xeon (or AMD64) 1U SCSI RAID, server-class rack servers 10 Intel Xeon (Nocona) 3.20 GHz/Socket 604 / 1MB L2 cache / .09 micron / 800mhz quad pump bus or equivalent AMD64 processors 10 1U passive heat sink for Xeon (Nocona) or AMD64 processors.
