Description
SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS RELATING TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, PLEASE CONTACT ELENI JERNELL AT EXJ1@NRC.GOV This is a combined synopsis/request for quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. No solicitation document exists. This announcement constitutes the only request for quotation. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to negotiate a sole source, commercial item contract for Network Testing Tools with the Ixia Communications. Specifically, Ixia will be required to provide equipment to enable the testing of data throughput capacity from HQ Novell Servers to resident PCs and between HQ and regional servers, by generating actual (not replicated) traffic. Since the NRC has a significant number of Novell NetWare servers, a load test application which can be installed on a NetWare platform is required which has a test endpoint installation for Novell NetWare, with associated maintenance. The following equipment, brand name or equal, and associated quantities will be provided: SFP Transceiver ? 850nm SX [QTY: 2 each]; 2-Port Dual-PHY (RJ45 and SFP) 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Load Module with Full Feature Support (does not include SFP transceivers) [QTY: 1 each]; 4-Slot Chassis Incl: PC & IxExplorer Software and Tcl Script-RFC [QTY: 1 each]; and, IxChariot, 10 Pairs ? Includes first 12 months of applicable maintenance [QTY: 1 each]. The NRC intends to award a firm fixed price contract with a period of performance from contract award through 12 months. The RFQ document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05. FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal; 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; 52.204-6, Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) Number; 52.219-22, Small Disadvantaged Business Status; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition with the following additional clauses: 52.204-7, Central Contractor Registration (Oct 2003), Alternate 1. Quotes received after the date and time specified for receipt of proposals shall be considered late in accordance with FAR 52.215-1. Direct all questions, referencing RFQ No. CIO-05-398, to exj1@nrc.gov. Interested respondents must submit a quotation along with a written capability statement including technical information sufficient to demonstrate a bona fide capability to meet this requirement no later than September 26, 2005. Responses providing insufficient information for evaluation will not be considered.
