Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with NetQ USA, Richmond, VA 23226 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253?(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements to purchase an SNA Firewall for SNA connectivity including both Native SNA and Native IP implementations. Native SNA environment includes: Subarea/SNI and APPN environments. In order to effectively control, monitor and detect unauthorized access and/or connectivity to approved external Business Partner entities of the SNA network, SSA requires state-of-art SNA Firewall capabilities to protect mainframe systems. The NetQ Firewall solution is appropriate for an SSA initiative to identify, monitor, and ultimately restrict, network pass-through traffic, defined as data connections between two of SSAs External Business Partners by way of piggybacking their mutual SSANet connectivity. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. This is not a request for quote; quotes submitted in response to this notice will not be considered. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/ or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact the POC identified above. Delivery is required within 30 days after award of purchase order.
