Description
Headquarters, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Alexandria, Virginia intends to award a sole source contract with Forecast International, utilizing the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of the Contracting Officer's knowledge, Forecast International is the only source available that provides production forecasts for almost all major defense industries. Forecast International supplies strategic advice, market intelligence and product knowledge bundled and easily accessible on the Internet. Forecast International is the only known source for the types of data and reports that DCMA requires to help us make informed assessments. Forecast International provides the most comprehensive forecasts for major weapons systems for both the US and the World at large going out 10 years. In-addition Forecast International provides analysis reports of major defense contractors around the world and US Defense Budget trends. Forecast International is unique in that it provides the forecasts for shipbuilding, combat vehicles, ammunition, and weapons sectors, in addition to its internationally recognized aerospace production forecasts. This service is critical for fulfilling DCMA's mission and its customers needs. Forecast International data and analysis is critical for supporting industrial, financial, technological, and economic assessments, as well as, supporting broad Industrial Base Forecasts. There is no standardization of methodology across sectors as there is with Forecast International. Award will be based on the best value technically acceptable. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTATION. However, if a company has reason to believe that it can meet or exceed all the needs of DCMA for this requirement, it may submit documentation to support its claim. ALL RESPONSES ARE DUE BY 12:00 PM (NOON), 23 SEPTEMBER 2005.
