Description

This synopsis replaces synopsis issued 5/23/05 for W81K04-05-R-0008. The date entered under Response Date above is for archival purposes only; not a closing date. The Secretary of Defense has directed comprehensive, expeditious, and accurate Human Im munodeficiency Virus Type I (HIV01) antibody testing of all Armed Forces applicants. The contractor shall provide all necessary qualified personnel, services, material, equipment, shipping services and transportation including specimen handling and proce ssing/courier service requirements, facilities, labor, software and supplies required to perform and report results of initial screening and confirmatory testing for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) antibodies employing Food and Drug Administra tion (FDA) approved whole viral lysine HIV-1 antibody ELISA screening test and an FDA-approved confirmatory test using the Western Blot technique on serum specimens furnished by Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS - Army Active Duty Medical Treatm ent Facilities, Army Reserve (USAR) Physical Examination Sites (PES), coordinated by the FEDS_HEAL Program Office, Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal Occupational Health (COH), U.S. Coast Guard Sites, and Army National Guard Sites.
