- Description
- The Product Manager for Crew Served Weapons has a requirement for a Remotely Operated Variant (ROV) of the 25mm XM307 Advanced Crew Served Weapon System (ACSW). The ROV shall integrate the basic XM307 weapon (receiver and operating group) with dual feed paths and remote mechanisms to operate and control the weapon from a central electronic control unit. The Remotely Operated Variant shall be capable of feeding and setting the fuzes of high explosive air bursting ammunition from either of the two feed paths to the weapon chamber. The ROV shall be capable of firing either of two different types of ammunition upon command from the firing station with first-round response. The total weapon length in the charged position shall be less than 43 inches. The ROV shall be capable of being remotely loaded, charged, aimed, fired and cleared. The Government is planning to negotiate a sole source modification with General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products in Burlington, VT under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. See Note 22. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
