The construction estimates for this project are in the range of $140,000,000 to $180,000,000. The scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to design and construction of a new 803,000+/- gross square foot new facility on an existing 70+/- acre site located on a previously General Motors owned parcel located at the Northwest corner of East Montcalm Street and Glenwood Avenue in Pontiac, MI. Some of the more salient aspects of the project are: Site erosion/sediment control, Site work that includes cut/fill and disbursement of 80,000+/- cubic yards of crushed concrete ?Preload?, limited concrete demolition, utility work including relocation/abandonment, concrete & asphalt paving, curbing, sidewalks, landscaping and lawns; building includes loading docks, exterior stairs, large work room, administration spaces, locker rooms, toilets, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, boiler rooms, storage rooms, stairs, utilities rooms, custodial areas and much more. All areas described are approximate; exact areas are denoted on plans and specifications to be issued with the Postal Service?s request for proposal. The total period for construction of the project will be 720 days from the date indicated on the Notice to Proceed. Contract award is contingent upon the Postal Service Board of Governors approval.
