Description
The Government has a requirement for Helmet Mount Assembly and Components. The Helmet Mount Assembly and Components secure a Night Vision Device to a Soldier's helmet. This allows freehand support of the system for use with a weapon and retains the life-saving properties of the Soldier's helmet. This effort will be solicited as Sole Source to ITT Night Vision of Roanoke, VA 24019-3222 for an award of a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract for the estimated purchas e of 866,000 units. The Government does not possess detailed technical data for these items. The Government has a Source Control Drawing, A3256369, which identifies only Norotos, Inc. as the source for this item. ITT Night Vision, the proposed source, h as a Technology License and Supplier Agreement with Norotos, Inc. of Santa Anna, CA the original manufacturer of the Helmet Mount Assembly. In addition Norotos acquired U.S. Patent Numbers for the Helmet Mount Assembly. Interested persons may identify th eir interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. However, all proposals received will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The official release of the Request for P roposal (RFP) will be posed on or about 14 October 2005 on the internet at the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website located at the following address: https://acquisition.army.mil. The online version of the RFP includes all documents of the solicit ation package. No hard copy of this RFP will be issued. Amendments, if any, will be posted at the same location as the solicitation. The complete solicitation package, including amendments should be received and reviewed prior to submitting a response. It is the responsibility of those responding to the solicitation to obtain all amendments and/or other applicable documents.
