- The Bay Pines Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bay Pines, FL 33744 intends to negotiate with Boston Scientific Corporation, 2710 Orchard Parkway, San Jose, CA 95134-2012 on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 for the purchase of two each of EPT-1000 Cardiac Ablation System (Part # M004800XPT0), CircuCool 8005 System, (Part #M00480050), Thermocouple Thermistor Translator Box, (Part #M00420710), EPT-1000 TC Expanded Performance APM, (Part #M004822T0), Quick Connect 9-Pole Thermistor Instrument Cable (Part #M0046510), Footswitch (Part # M0048400), Quick Connect APM to EGM Instrument Cable, (Part # M004653S0), and four each of Valleylab ground pads (Part #M0043540), and four each EPT-1000 TC Operators Manuals (Part # M0043570). This equipment will be used in conjunction the CardioLab IT System manufactured by General Electric. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4:00 PM EST on 10/17/05. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to Bay Pines VA Medical Center, Laurie K. Mahalla (516/90G), Contracting Officer, P.O. Box 457, Bay Pines, FL 33744. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Bay Pines VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with the Boston Scientific Corporation. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
