Description

Services to transport shipments containing radioactive material and dangerous waste from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Bremerton,WA to the Port of Benton, near Richland, WA via Puget Sound, Washington State coast and the Columbia River. Shipments shall consist of one barge with deck mounted cargo of a single package containing hazardous materials. A typical cylinderical package may weight between 1,000 and 2,750 short tons and be as long as 55 feet. Shipments will typically occur between March 1 and October 31 of each contract year. Services are required for a one year period of performance with two option years. This solicitation will be full and open. FOB Destination. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound. Approximate solicitation posting date is October 14, 2005. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: http://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for frequently monitoring that site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents.
