- NAVAIR Depot Cherry Point, NC, Code 6.3.1 is seeking information from potential sources regarding industry technologies applicable to conforming with OSHA?s Occupational Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium; Proposed Rule - Docket number H054A. The Depot is a DoD Industrial Facility responsible for the repair, overhaul, and re-manufacture of Department of Defense Aircraft. In the overhaul, repair and re-manufacture process, materials are subject to sanding, grinding, cutting, and drilling, using various types of manual hand and pneumatic power tools. Standard tools generate dust containing unacceptable levels of Hexavalent Chromium into the atmosphere per Occupational Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium; Proposed Rule - Docket number H054A. The Depot is seeking information from industry regarding the availability of tools, tool accessories, and vacuum systems capable of reducing the level of hazardous dust to comply with Occupational Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium; Proposed Rule - Docket number H054A. Respondents must clarify if their firm can currently provide items that meet the Depot's needs.
