- The U.S. Army RDECOM (AMSRD-ACC-NS), Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA has a requirement for the fabrication, installation, and start-up of two (2) walk-in freezer systems. The resulting walk-in freezer systems will incorporate the following features: The walk-in freezer boxes will be located inside of a building but will have the compressors and air-cooled condensers mounted outside of the building. The evaporators will be mounted inside the structure; all wiring and piping associated with the evapora tors will be provided and installed by the Contractor. The freezers will be capable of maintaining a temperature of -10 degrees Fahrenheit. The two freezers will include the enclosure boxes (insulation, doors, and wall, ceiling, and floor panels), refrig eration equipment, and associated piping and drain assemblies. The freezers will include a weatherproof electrical control box with compressor contactor and fused control circuit, a spring mounted semi-hermetic compressor with suction and discharge vibrati on eliminator, energy efficient PSC condenser fan motor, high efficiency enhanced tube and fin condenser design, receiver with fusible plug and liquid shut-off valve, adjustable high/low pressure control, suction service valve, outdoor weather resistant ho using with removable hood, flooded head pressure control, and crankcase heater. The outside freezer box dimensions will be approximately 15 feet by 15 feet by 8 feet. The required voltage is 208/230 3 phase. Electrical work and wall penetrations will be performed by the Army and are not included in this solicitation. Start-up services will include leak and triple evacuation testing and recording temperatures, amperage, and pressures to ensure that the system meets operating requirements. The vendor will be expected to provide a one year warranty covering parts, labor, and installation; Warranty service response will be expected within 24 hours of notification.
