Description
US Marine Corps, Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager MAGTF Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle seeks to identify potential sources that currently can provide, or will soon be able to provide, Active Protection Systems (APS) for USMC Armored Combat Vehicles. THIS FEDBIZOPPS POSTING IS STRICTLY A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE THAT PART OF A TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH SURVEY THAT IS BEING CONDUCTED FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY; IT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS OR PROPOSALS. APS is pending acquisition initiative for platform self protection systems designed to address required survivability capability needs. APS will provide the Marine Corps a ?Hard Kill? intercept and degradation of anti-armor threats at a standoff distance from the Platform.It is the most robust hit avoidance technology in terms of addressing the required spectrum of threats, while giving the capacity to respond to close-range threat engagements. RPG proliferation and current counter-insurgency operations have elevated the priority of addressing candidate vehicle survivability requirements, particularly against close-range, handheld anti-armor weapons. Hit Avoidance technologies such as APS will minimize vehicle crew casualties and vehicle damage from a spectrum of threats (CE, ATGM, KE, etc.). PM MEFFV is inviting any firm interested in meeting APS requirements to provide information on their proposed system/technology. All interested sources should submit their capabilities statements to in writing to the Marine Corps Systems Command, Mary Lee Schuck, Contracting Officer, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134.
