Description

IBET Acquisitions anticipates awarding a non-competitive contract to Fecon Resource Recovery Equipment & Systems to furnish masticating heads for the Adaptive Management Services Enterprise Team. The masticating heads are used in forest fuels treatment. Originally, other manufacturers were considered but there are several unique aspects of the Fecon Bull Hog masticating head. The most crucial of which is the vertical mounting, which limits the potential for injury to the operator and those on-site by generating smaller chip sizes than other products and directing them into the soil. The smaller chip sizes eliminate the need for prescribed fire follow-up, which will work well in terms of air pollution and wildland-urban interface. The design attaches the tool with a bolt for easy replacement. The Forest Service intends to use the Bull Hog attachment on a skidsteer. The model of Fecon Bull Hog used with the skidsteer also has an hydraulic brake feature on the rotor, which quickens stopping and allows the operator to exit more safely. Vendors believing they can meet this requirement must submit written technical information showing clearly that the product(s) proposed meet(s) or exceed(s) the performance of the Fecon Bull Hog masticating head. Also include estimated cost for any proposed product, including delivery and installation (if needed). All information must be received no later than 2:00 pm PT on October 26, 2005.
