Description
This notice rescinds and replaces the advance notice for W912BV-05-R-2012 published on March 24, 2005. This advance notice for Request for Proposal No. W912BV-06-R-2001 is of an acquisition for a 5-year, single award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract utilizing a single-phase design/build approach for the student pipeline campus program and related activities at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for fiscal years 2006 through 2010. The initial task order to be awarded under the basic con tract will be for the design and construction of the FY06 Student Pipeline Dormitory, consisting of a new 160,000 square foot dormitory, physical plant, force protection systems, site work, utilities, communications systems, parking areas, sidewalks, and v arious support facilities. Demolition of existing buildings may be required. The initial task order will also include an option for the design and construction of a 1,500 person Dining Facility. Subsequent design/build task orders under the basic contra ct for the FY07 through FY10 fiscal year programs are anticipated to be similar in scope and size to the FY06 fiscal year program. Task orders for design/build and construction activities related to and necessary for the support of the student pipeline ca mpus program may also be awarded under the basic contract. The estimated cost range of this project for the initial task order is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. SPECIAL NOTE: A Pre-Proposal Conference and Small Business Symposium for this project is scheduled for December 1, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. CST, at Wichita Falls, Texas. All interested prospective offerors, subcontractors, and small business firms are encouraged to attend. The purpose of the Pre-Proposal conference will be to familiarize prospec tive offerors with the extent and nature of the project. The Small Business Symposium to be held in conjunction with the Pre-Proposal Conference will be for the purpose of providing networking opportunities in the design/build industry and to encourage an d enhance small business participation. Separate tables will be available for small businesses to display and distribute promotional materials for their firms as a part of the Small Business Symposium. Prospective offerors, subcontractors, and small busi nesses who plan to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference and Small Business Symposium MUST register and provide, by facsimile, a list of names and titles of representatives, not to exceed three (3) per firm, who will attend the conference. Small business fir ms desiring separate table space for the Small Business Symposium MUST also include a request for table space, which will be provided on a first registered, first served basis, as the number of tables will be limited to available space. Registration and t able-space requests must be transmitted to RANDY BRATCHER, fax number 918-669-7495 and MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 11:00 a.m. CST, November 22, 2005. Plans and specifications will be available on or about November 11, 2005, and will be provided on com pact disk (CD-ROM) and will be available on the web for download. THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMs WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans, specifications, and plan holders lists will not be provided in a hard copy printed format. Registration for plans and spe cifications MUST BE MADE VIA OUR INTERNET HOME PAGE at www.swt.usace.army.mil; select Contracting; select Current Solicitations. No phone calls to order, please. All orders will be mailed via first class mail. Requests for special handling (Fed-X, etc.) will not be honored.
