Description: The general description of the work is to furnish all equipment, labor, layout of work features, all required materials, and supervision needed to accomplish site preparation and revegetation in the South Diversion Ditch at Dyess Air Force Base locat ed in Abilene, Texas. The area to be planted is approximately 20,000 linear feet along the South Diversion Ditch from the confluence with the North Diversion Ditch, to a point along the diversion ditch where Third Street would intersect the South Diversio n Ditch. An unused dirt road crossing, behind the maintenance area, is south of the end point on the South Diversion Ditch, just outside of the area not to be planted. At the very end of the South Diversion Ditch, no plantings are to occur, to minimize str ike hazards between birds and aircraft. The area of planting will extend from the toe of the drainage ditch to the top of bank on both sides of the drainage ditch. Additionally, dead trees in the 1250 ft. experimental plot on the North Diversion Ditch are to be re-planted. Lastly, dead trees in the North Diversion Ditch (24,358 linear feet) are to be replaced with any remaining trees left over after planting the South Diversion Ditch. The replacement trees are to be planted in the appropriate rows until al l trees are used. Specifications will be available on the Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office (VCCO) Web Page at http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/contract/. Hardcopies will not be available. Offerors should check the VCCO Web Page often for new solic itation and/or changes (AMENDMENTS) to existing ones. Issue date on or about 31 October 2005. Offer due date on or about 10 November 2005.
