Description
The Government requires a protective cover for the Infrared Exhaust Suppressor (IES-47) for the MH-47D/E/G series helicopter. The cover must protect the IES-47 from sand, dust and bird intrusion and must be constructed of a durable material that can withstand worldwide environmental conditions to include ultraviolet radiation, rain, hail, snow and extreme hot and cold conditions. The material should be of a type that can be easily folded when not in use to reduce space required for storage. The cover must be easy to install and remove, and attach securely so as to remain in place when subjected to environmental condition such as rain, hail and snow and winds up to 60 MPH from any direction. The preferred design will attach to the existing MH-47 Engine Cover without affecting the form, fit and function of the existing engine cover. Quantities required will be between 20 and 140 shipsets, with each shipset consisting of 2 covers, a right and left side. Delivery schedule will be 5 shipsets delivered per month commencing 30 January 2006 until completion of deliveries. Prospective suppliers must respond not later 21 October 2005 via email to both SFC Wallace Maynard of the Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) Systems Integration Management Office (SIMO) at maynardw@soar.army.mil and Mr. John Boehmer of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Technology Applications Program Office (TAPO) at jboehmer@tapo.eustis.army.mil to arrange for an opportunity for a site visit to have access to the aircraft at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, for the purposes of design development. Formal visit requests are required and will be provided when visit times are coordinated. The window for this opportunity is the week of 31 October through 4 November 2005. This requirement is a small business set-aside.
