- Description
- The Government requires a protective cover for the Infrared Exhaust Suppressor (IES-47) for the MH-47D/E/G series helicopter. The cover must protect the IES-47 from sand, dust and bird intrusion and must be constructed of a durable material that can withstand worldwide environmental conditions to include ultraviolet radiation, rain, hail, snow and extreme hot and cold conditions. The material should be of a type that can be easily folded when not in use to reduce space required for storage. The cover must be easy to install and remove, and attach securely so as to remain in place when subjected to environmental condition such as rain, hail and snow and winds up to 60 MPH from any direction. The preferred design will attach to the existing MH-47 Engine Cover without affecting the form, fit and function of the existing engine cover.
