- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, MD intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for the duration of three years with Communication & Power Industries (CPI), 150 Sohier Road, Beverly, MA 01915. The requirements of the BOA is to provide services and materials to fabricate, modify, repair, replace, upgrade, and improve Navy Precision Approach Landing Systems (PALS) components, assemblies, and associated hardware. PALS components to be supported include the Transmitter Assembly that has been integrated into the AN/SPN-35C Radar, Magnetrons for the AN/SPN-43 Radar and various RF assemblies used in the AN/SPN-46(V) Radar. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source. CPI as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is the only company that currently possess the technical expertise and special tooling required to design modifications and upgrades to the components, assemblies and associated hardware. CPI is the only company that currently possesses the technical expertise and special tooling required to repair associated parts for these complex systems. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST OF COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may submit information, no later than 30 days after this synopsis is published, which will be considered by this agency. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Services to be performed under the proposed BOA will span a period of three years tentatively beginning date of award. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this action is 334411, size-standard of 750 employees.
