Description

USDA Forest Service - White Mountain National Forest, NH.White Mountain Nationsal Forest, NH. CHANDLER MOUNTAIN TURNBACK. Range: $100,000 - $250,000. Pre-proposal meeting: Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 9:00 AM local - at the job site. Job site at the junction of FR-17 and FR-17A - from the center of North Conway Village, go north on US 320/NH-16, approximately 4-miles, turn right on Town Hall Road and proceed straight ahead approximately 7-miles on Slippery Brook Road, FR-17 to Chandler Mountain Road, FR-17A - on the left; a short distance before a closed steel gate. The scheduled time/date of the pre-prosposal meeting is dependent on weather and the water level of Slippery Brook, as it has to be crossed on foot (no wading) to access the project. Please contact Mr. J. Sylvester at 603-447-5448, ext. 135, 24-hours prior to pre-proposal meeting to confirm that it is still planned. Any technical questions should also be directed to Mr. Sylvester. Project start date - June 1, 2006. Project completion date - October 15, 2006. Work includes road reconstruction (1.5 miles), brushing/mowing, clearing/grubbing, excavation and embankment, ditching, borrow excavation, culverts, riprap, geotextile, steel gate, seeding, 2-temporary log bridges (24' x 32'), 1-temporary portable/modular bridge (80 ft) with 1-temporary abutment.
